The Principal Investigator of the Project Telegerne
She is Associate Professor of Human Genetics at the University of
Rwanda and she is conducting genetic consultation in CHUK since 2016. Her specific area of
interest lies in the genetic aspects of neurodevelopmental disorders and rare diseases
affecting Rwandan children.
Prof. Uwineza co-authored several papers on syndromic
developmental disorders, including Down syndrome, Turner syndrome, and Williams syndrome,
in diverse populations. Her team pursues to develop new techniques in Human Genetics in Rwanda
