Principal Investigator
She is Associate Professor of Human Genetics at the University of Rwanda and has been conducting genetic consultation at CHUK since 2016. Her specific area of interest lies in the genetic aspects of neurodevelopmental disorders and rare diseases affecting Rwandan children.
Dr. Uwineza has co-authored several papers on syndromic developmental disorders, including Down syndrome, Turner syndrome, and Williams syndrome, across diverse populations. Her team actively pursues developing new techniques in Human Genetics in Rwanda.
As Principal Investigator of the TeleGerne project, she leads a multidisciplinary team combining telehealth innovation and genomic science to expand access to genetic services throughout Rwanda.
